Athletics:

• To preserve the iconic character of Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, an innovative design for roof over seating tier has been provided this is the one of the largest membrane roof system in the world. 
• The supporting system for 71 m span projected PTFE membrane roof over seating tier independent but coherent with the existing retrofitting structure.
• State-of-the-art technology for the system of sports lighting and public address.
• The membrane of the roof will be illuminated during night hours with state-of-the-art façade lighting to relieve the spectators of monotony.
• An air-conditioned tunnel for the performers of the opening and closing ceremonies inside the stadium below the athletes track and arena.
• Special retrofitting with steel jacketing of 512 columns.
• Ring of fire, lighting provided on the cat-walk of J.N. Stadium to give glare free FOP lighting.
• Façade lighting in J.N. Stadium will cover 54,000 sqm. of membrane which will provide a crown shape to the stadium.

• VIP & VVIP Lounges at the Western Entry Access via Stairs, Lifts & Escalators
• Fully Air-conditioned Facilities of International Standard for VIPs, Athletes, Media & Technical Officials
• The new approach ramps have been designed to provide an evacuation time lesser than 6 minutes as per international standards. Indigenously available high strength steel plates have been considered in the design. The steel fabrication and erection work would be done through Indian agencies, locally.
